Leading the Sustainability Conversation Without Compromise
What Is the Role of Marketing in Sustainability?
On Tuesday 23rd September, 9am - 10:30am, we will be hosting a breakfast roundtable event for CMOs and Marketing Directors discussing the role of marketing in sustainability.
With consumers demanding greater transparency and increasing concern for the environment, marketing leaders’ remits are evolving and taking on a more critical role in driving sustainability efforts within their organisations. We are bringing together a group of highly experienced CMOs to discuss the challenges and opportunities of marketing and sustainability.
We will be joined by Michelle Carvill and Gemma Butler, authors of two great books on this subject ‘Can Marketing Save the Planet?’ and ‘Sustainable Marketing’, to share their insight and experience. VMA GROUP’s CEO, Andrew Harvey, will facilitate a group discussion, providing opportunity for this experienced group of CMOs to share knowledge, experiences, challenges and successes, so we can all learn and evolve together.
Our Discussion
Sustainability is the biggest challenge facing humanity and a business imperative. With consumers growing more conscious, awareness and concern increasing around climate change and regulators tightening regulation on green claims, CMOs face a critical challenge: How do you authentically communicate progress, drive growth, and future-proof your strategy all at once?
This roundtable brings together forward-thinking marketing leaders to tackle these questions:
We’ll start by exploring the communications gap - are you sharing your sustainability journey effectively, telling stories and growing awareness, or holding back due to fear of scrutiny?
Next, we’ll confront the growth paradox - how can marketing teams integrate sustainability without compromising business performance and, can sustainability enhance profitability?
Finally, we’ll talk tactics on overcoming internal hurdles - from upskilling marketers to breaking silos with sustainability teams. What are you doing or planning to do, to address the challenges?
Please get in touch with Andrew Harvey via aharvey@vmagroup.com to register your interest.
We hope you're able to join us!
