Many of our consultants have worked in communications or marketing. Their professional backgrounds range from heading up corporate communications teams to managing change programmes and marketing campaigns.
We also have consultants who have backgrounds in specialist recruitment and commercial sales environments, who have developed their knowledge of our disciplines and bring their commercial capabilities to benefit our clients.
These diverse backgrounds complement and support a collaborative culture. We work together rather than against each other.
VMAGROUP believes in developing our employees.
In 2019 we introduced the VMAGROUP Professional Development Fund.
This fund allows employees’ to choose their own professional development course; whether that’s a day to develop their presentation skills or they are looking to subsidise a longer course to build their skills in management.
VMAGROUP also run various internal and external training courses; to develop skills in various aspects of recruitment, management or the commercial environment.
We are a member of APSCo and members of our teams attend forums and events on a regular basis to keep up to date on legislation, best practice and wider recruitment industry trends.
We utilise our internal expertise and our external network to deliver a series of “Lunch & Learns.” These build our team’s knowledge of the markets and communities we recruit for as well as their skills and confidence in recruitment.
We have moved away from the traditional annual appraisal and are transparent around our promotional processes for consultants.
The VMAGROUP Pathway takes employees from coordinator up to director, with clear criteria and expectations around what is required for promotion from one level to the next and a bi-annual opportunity to make that happen.
Our team are the best in the business, and we know we couldn’t do it without them.
