I am looking for an accomplished, credible communications professional to take on a new six-month, part-time contract for the investment arm of one of the world’s leading universities, which provides financial support for its research, teaching and other activities.

This high-profile, £4bn investment vehicle is characterised by a passionate, informed team and is at the vanguard of a number of this institution’s key sustainability ambitions, including achieving net zero by 2038. Operating as a fund of funds, it holds & invests donations made to the university, its colleges and charitable trusts, along with other long-term capital, which is critical both to its success and to its ability to contribute to society.

To be considered, you will need experience of drafting & delivering annual reports as well as managing an organisational website relaunch and achieving significant improvements in look & feel. You’ll be well-versed in working with an incredibly diverse group of stakeholders, which ranges from university students and academic departments to donors, investors, and analysts. Ideally, you will be familiar with global organisations and financial environments.

You might come from an education background or have experience in financial services, particularly investment. Perhaps your latest assignment was at a not-for-profit or you’ve been championing sustainability and the green agenda for some time. Either way, you’ll need to be strategically sound, intellectually curious and unstintingly diplomatic with the ability to combine a consultative approach with hands-on graft as part of a small team. You'll also need to be comfortable drafting and editing original content in addition to your strategic responsibilities.

Likely working on a 3-day a week basis from September (or before), you’ll need to be able to visit premises in central London and Cambridge regularly with the remainder of the role performed remotely. Please note this role can be fulfilled either on a day-rate basis or as a fixed-term contract. If you’d like to hear more, please get in touch ASAP.
