A well-known UK charity is looking for a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to join them on a 6 month contract, paying a salary of £30,000 - £32,000.

The successful candidate will be working on a programme which transofms how the organisation operates in communities across England and Scotland. There will be a significant shift towards inspiring and supporting people to enable the organisation to deliver sustainable and systemic change. This will benefit individuals and the wider community.

 

As activity is gaining momentum the organisation now requires a communications and engagement officer embedded in the leadership team and reporting to the Internal Comms Manager. The role will develop a working knowledge of the work at a local level, a national level and an organisational level to plan and execute proactive communications and engagement.

 

Central to the success of this role is devising an overarching communications plan unifying the programme across the organisation; whilst recognising and responding to the different operating landscapes across England and Scotland with key messages and channels defined for target audiences. The role involves liaising with senior leaders confidently and establishing an effective process to review progress, recommending solutions to address gaps as they arise. 

 

This position is fully remote though there will be occasional travel to different ‘hubs’ across England and Scotland (likely once a month). The hiring manager is looking for someone to start late-September and interviews will start w/c 13 September.

 

Experience

 

  • Create detailed communication and engagement plans for key change components
  • Write timely, targeted content across all channels*, adhering to brand guidelines

[*inc. digital, intranet pages, live and virtual events; newsletters, video production]

  • Establish two-way dialogue, enable feedback, set criteria and measure comms activity  
  • Agree engagement with priorities/milestones with change leads and key stakeholders
  • Maintain regular contact with change leads to manage updates, drive joined-up approach
  • Align activity with internal comms team wider comms team across the organisation
