This leading financial services organisation is looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join it's Group Public Affairs team. 

This role will contribute to their work with parliament, government, civil servants, regulators, think tanks and other external partners. Working collaboratively with teams across our Group to generate ideas for policy change and political engagement on topics of importance to customers, clients, and the business more generally. 

The role speaks directly to their audiences and utilises networks and expertise across the bank to support messaging. 

The Group Public Affairs team are looking for someone who has a passion for politics, an interest in the financial services industry and the capability to articulate the organisations stance and point of view on varying subjects. 

The role will suit someone who is can hold their own in discussions with MPs and stakeholders and is looking to develop their skills and experience surrounded by a strong team of collaborative and supportive team members.

What skills, capabilities and experience will you need to bring to the role?

  • Recent working experience of Westminster politics, civil service, or local government.
  • An excellent political network and the ability to communicate confidently with high profile politicians and civil servants.
  • Energy and passion
  • The ability to deliver counsel to senior leaders in a manner which is compelling and authoritative.
  • A natural curiosity about politics, public policy and the UK’s socio-economic challenges.

While you'll be expected to engage with partners on multiple themes, the origanisation is keen to see applications from candidates with a strong interest in and good understanding of sustainability issues relevant to financial services. Demonstrating a good working knowledge or interest level in this topic will be essential.
