PR Manager Europe
Purpose of role
The PR Manager, Europe will be responsible for managing and delivering all media and communications activity together with our client’s European investor audiences.
They will work closely with our client’s European trade and investment team based in France and Germany, as well as colleagues in London to secure positive media coverage in top tier regional, national and business and technology outlets in our client’s key European markets. The main focus will be to achieve high impact media coverage in France and Germany, with some additional time spent targeting secondary priority markets such as the Nordics and the Netherlands.
You will have a keen interest in technology, innovation and wider business trends and will understand how to adapt London’s core business audience messages to European audiences and channels.
To devise and implement proactive business PR campaigns in support of our client’s strategic objectives
To generate original PR plans and tactics to deliver high impact earned media results in key European markets
To localise news stories and content produced by our client’s London teams, tailoring it for the European audiences
Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key European tech, business, national and regional journalists
To manage budgets relating to activity in their specialist sector, and work with colleagues to gather and evaluating relevant media coverage
To organise and manage overseas press and influencer trips to London where required
To work with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop high impact media stories to promote key messages to our client’s European audiences
To work collaboratively with colleagues from across our client’s European offices (based in France and Germany) to unearth stories and develop press materials relevant for European media
To contribute to the overall success of the PR team
There may be some requirements to travel across Europe
Skills and Competencies
Experience working on B2B PR projects and/or clients
Able to identify and execute effective media and communications’ campaigns across digital and traditional media in line with our client’s strategic objectives
Experience working closely with PR teams of high-profile partners and stakeholders
Customer first and data led, using audience data to inform activity and achieve goals
Experience working in an agile marketing environment and as part of project teams
Successfully uses innovative and creative problem solving to implement plans and objectives.
Able to adjust comfortably to and remains productive within the context of ambiguous and fast changing priorities and cultural agendas
Able to maintain successful relationships with internal and external networks that work to mutual benefit, including European business and technology media
Able to communicate a clear sense of purpose, direction and success to internal & external stakeholders in a self-assured and articulate manner
Able to deliver projects with the team using all available resources, measuring and monitoring performance throughout
Facilitates team performance by creating a team environment that encourages responsibility and ownership for outcomes and improvement
Experience managing external PR agencies
Committed to continuous learning and evolving with industry best practice
A strong existing networking of business and tech journalists in Europe (particularly in France and Germany)
Fluent in English and German, and ideally a working proficiency in French
