This is an exciting time to join my client, the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity. As PR & Celebrity Officer (Fundraising) you will work closely with Fundraising teams to propose, develop and deliver creative media relations and PR plans to support fundraising and income generating campaigns and initiatives.

The role

My client is looking for an enthusiastic and creative PR & Celebrity Officer to join their Fundraising PR team. You will be joining our PR & Celebrity team at a busy and exciting time, as we evaluate previous campaigns and plan for our Spring campaigns.

Working as part of the high-performing Fundraising PR team, you will work across the PR activity for a variety of Fundraising products and campaigns. This role manages the PR activity for a number of important areas, including Challenge Events and Student Fundraising, as well as leading on the PR and Celebrity activity for our portfolio of Special Events.

You will work closely with our case-study supporters, men and women affected by breast cancer, on a day-to-day basis.

As a member of the wider PR team, you will play an active role in monitoring our news coverage on a daily basis. You will also participate in the team’s out-of-hours on call rota.

About you

You will have at least a year’s experience working in a PR / news environment, either in-house or at a PR agency, or as a journalist, and will be looking for the next step in your PR and Media Relations career. You will be adaptable and resourceful and keen to learn new skills, but will be able to bring new and innovative ideas and ways of working to the role.

An excellent all-round communicator, your strong and engaging inter-personal skills will enable you to work closely with our case study supporters, to tell their stories in the media to inspire support my client’s work. These skills will also allow you to easily build and maintain effective relationships with key journalist contacts across print, broadcast online, as well as celebrity and influencer contacts.

As well as first class communications skills, you will have excellent organisational and time-management skills, and be adaptable and resourceful.
