A fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected organisation in the financial services industry. The Internal Communications Manager will lead on the management and coordination of the day-to-day internal communications and act as overall editor for the new intranet (launches December 2022). This includes planning, writing and publishing stories, maximising the use of optimising layout and design and advising on best ways to communicate and display information.

As overall intranet editor, the successful candidate will be required to regulate stories, news flow and use analytics to determine best approaches, layout and features. They will support new and interesting ways to communicate the organisation’s important messages within the brand and tone of voice, including the evolution the regular e-newsletter.

The IC Manager will support the Head of Corporate Communications on developing content for Town Halls also and enhancing the format. They will carry out ad hoc internal comms activities as required, working closely with all managers across the directorate. As one of a team of managers in the Communications team, they will act as a role model for the organisation’s behaviours and have the responsibility of line managing two team members: the Content Editor and Communications Assistant. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead on day-to day internal communications across all channels (intranet, screens, weekly e-newsletter, etc.)

  2. Work with stakeholders across the business to generate fresh and engaging content to de-liver their messages, including for Instagram. Contributing to overall Group business change projects, advising on best practice internal communications and campaigns, ensuring alignment with any ongoing business or people strategy communication plans.

  3. Work with the wider Corporate Communications team to plan and produce a pipeline of content for the corporate website, making sure external messages are adapted for internal use and vice versa, maximising content across channels and adapting for the audience/channel.

  4. Manage the Content Editor and Communications Assistant, supporting their development and ensuring strong performance. Ensure that team members are able to fulfil their potential and represent the team in the right way through their work and behaviour. Lead on internal communication and engagement activities and campaigns that support the D&I agenda.

  5. Be an active and engaged member of the Communications Team and enthusiastically share ownership of the team’s performance and success, working with managers across the di-rectorate to help convey our messages in the best possible way.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven stakeholder management skills, can liaise with all levels of an organisation. Excel-lent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Adept planning and organisational skills; collaborative content planning skills; ability to create content and plans that communicate key messages effectively Strongly collaborative - promotes cross-functional, collaborative working

  • Ability to use analytics to guide and inform our approach Business acumen

  • Excellent copywriting and verbal communication skills
