Job Description

We have a brilliant new maternity cover contract opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager to join a leading professional association firm (not-for-profit).

This brand new position, an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, will see the successful candidate take ownership of two primary sets of responsibilities:

  1. Internal Communications - develop and deliver an internal communications strategy, centrally anchored at fostering an engaged workforce (alongside wider corporate objectives).

  2. Membership Communications – support the ‘membership’ division to co-ordinate communications plans for projects pertaining to our client’s member base.

 

This position is based out of central London (hybrid working), sits within the Communications function, starts within the next 2 months, and offers £40,000 - £44,400 pro rated.

 

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications

  • With support from the communications team and HR colleagues, develop and deliver internal communication strategies to create a more engaged workforce.

  • Liaise with HR and Directors to design and coordinate key business announcements.

  • Drive improvements in communications across the organisation.

  • Generate content for a range of internal communications channels.

 

Membership Communications

  • Work with the membership division to develop and co-ordinate communications plans for projects identified as strategic priorities.

  • Monitor the delivery of communications plans towards members and take remedial action as required.

  • Ensure that communication needs of members are fully integrated into the wider communications plans.

 

Additional

  • Website content: provide support to the digital content team as required, including drafting blogs, reviewing/editing existing web content, and developing ideas for additional web content.

  • Line management: whilst not yet confirmed as a feature of this role, potential line management responsible over the communications executive.

 

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in Internal Communications, ideally with some experience of working in a professional membership organisation.

  • Ability to lead and deliver specific proactive communication campaigns, both in the short and long term, as well as have the gravitas to provide guidance to senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent copy writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to turn technical material into non-technical for a range of audiences.

  • Someone who has line management experience is a big plus
