​Job Description

A leading London university is looking for an Interim Internal Communications Manager on an initial nine month contract paying a day rate of between £250 - £275 (inside IR35), depending on experience. 

There’s never been a better time to join the university. With its 10 year strategy - Vision 2028 – firmly in place, the institution is embarking on an ambitious programme to make it fit for an ever-changing world. With this in mind, the Head of Internal Communications is seeking an experienced internal communications professional to lead on some internal campaigns. 

Covering anything from physical and mental health campaigns for students and employees, to comms around preparing students for life post-university and supporting with their finance planning, this is a really varied role with lots of imagination and creativity required to succeed. The hiring manage is open to interviewing candidates from all sector backgrounds, as long as they have a strong communications pedigree and bring that creativity, excellent written ability and digital channel management skills. 

This is a hybrid role with c.2 days a week in the East London office. The hiring manager would like the successful candidate to start by late-August. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement communications in a wide range of digital and physical formats and channels for a diverse internal audience

  • Produce and copyright content required for storytelling and ensuring the content is fully-brand aligned (addressing the key brand-points across the projects)

  • Identification of assets required for content development

  • Increase internal stakeholder engagement with various campaigns across the university

  • Work with the key communication colleagues to ensure alignment with the corporate communications strategy

Experience

  • Proven success in an internal communications role

  • Experience of managing high-level stakeholder relationships 

  • Experience in developing and implementing a communications plans

  • Strong project management experience or experience in embedding project management methodology

  • Emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to thrive on challenges and remaining calm under pressure 

  • An excellent and persuasive communicator with the gravitas to be credible to working across the university

  • Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunity issues within a diverse and multicultural environment
