Interim Internal Communications Assistant

A global engineering and design firm is looking for a confident communicator on a six month contract.

This is a key role with the objective of supporting the Group Internal Communications team with the creation, design and distribution of their communications and events. A fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in internal communications or develop their communications expertise in a truly global, collaborative organisation. 

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and organisation skills and will work best in a fast-paced environment with lots of opportunities to learn and develop. They will also need to be conscientious, well-organised, with excellent attention to detail and a creative flair.

 

Key responsibilities

  • To help with the design and distribution of high quality Group communications
  • Write global news stories for the firm-wide weekly news channel, and help manage the content process through to publication
  • Support the development of the new internal communications channels using SharePoint and Poppulo to populate templates and publish content
  • Create, build and maintain content on the firm’s intranet for various strategic priorities.
  • Offer logistics support for local events, including talks, conference calls and live online events
  • Offer project support on major global communication projects, involving organisation of meetings, tracking of actions and recording minutes
  • Help to create and manage the various Team Spaces on SharePoint, ensuring the content is well structured and up to date, and that permissions are correct with the right distribution lists

 

Experience and skillset required

  • Strong knowledge of digital and collaboration communication tools, especially MS SharePoint, Poppulo, and Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Excellent attention to detail, spelling and grammar
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A confident writer with a creative eye for design
  • Event management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
