Hybrid – 3 days in the office

We are working in partnership with newcleo an innovator in the field of nuclear energy, and they are looking to recruit a Head of Group Communications for a newly created role within their Communications team. You will be reporting directly to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and be based in their London office.

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of all corporate and business communications and activities across the Group, highlighting the company's objectives, achievements, reputation and equity growth.

These activities will require an integrated approach across external communications (covering PR/media relations, brand awareness, M&A/financial comms, sustainability/ESG); internal and executive communications (including supporting the development of the Group’s intranet working closely with the team members directly responsible for it); conferences/events management (for logistics and content) and issues/crisis management.

You will also work closely with the CCO and the government affairs function to ensure strong coordination in helping the Group in its interactions with government and public policy stakeholders in the UK.

We are looking for someone who has experience and knowledge of the energy sector, as well as a strong awareness of current affairs and news/media trends. Experience and knowledge of the media and political landscapes in the UK and internationally is very important.

The successful candidate will develop strong internal relationships based on credible and trustworthy advice to leadership, demonstrating a proactive mindset combining rigour and creativity.

Experience working in a matrix environment with a variety of stakeholders and with occasionally conflicting priorities will be valuable.

You will be responsible for:

•Supporting the CCO in all activities towards the protection and enhancement of the Group’s brand and reputation, ensuring the corporate communications strategy is executed effectively, messaging and narrative are consistent and up to date

•Develop and deliver external corporate communications in support of the Group’s business objectives, covering PR, media relations, brand awareness, reputation protection and enhancement. This will include relevant measurements and KPIs for impact on key Group stakeholders

•Support the CCO in managing PR / corporate communications agencies seamlessly to deliver in line with strategy, in time and on budget

•Oversee and manage the preparation of press releases, statements and external communications collaterals; drive traditional and digital media opportunities with the global team, measuring impact with clear metrics where possible

•Oversee timely media monitoring for coverage of interest and for proactive opportunities identification and to disseminate ad hoc articles of interest to Executives and colleagues

•Contribute to the development and delivery of internal communications, including leadership communications; this will include internal meetings, intranet content, internal publications such as newsletters, email announcements, planned publications, intranet content, videos, ad hoc projects/campaigns with other functions

•Advise and manage any crisis communications with the CCO and Group leadership team

•Be a trusted advisor to the Group’s Executives and other senior leaders on matters of reputation, stakeholder engagement and at times of crises and act as company spokesperson when required with media
