Our client who is a globally recognized FTSE 100 company, is growing their digital and social media team to aid the digital growth of their brand. The purpose of the Digital & Social Media Specialist role is to take care of Corporate Relations & Sustainable Impact and ensure the company stands out as a trusted corporate leader within its industry, which unlocks long-term value for society by effectively managing socio-political risk.
Key Tasks:
Performance & Delivery – digital communication
Guided by the Digital Media Manager, develop and deliver digital channel strategy to best highlight the company to the full array of its stakeholders, with a strong focus on creating world-class digital communication.
Proactively oversee the content calendar for all digital and social media channels: Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and the group website portfolio
Ensure the website is displaying the most up-to-date information and supporting the company’s different campaigns and strategic focuses in an engaging, innovative way.
Work with agency support to create and oversee a rolling social content calendar, collaborating with stakeholders and identifying opportunities to tell our story through engaging multi-media content such as blog posts, thought leadership articles, video, infographics, Insta stories and reels, LinkedIn Live etc. developing content aligned with the External Communication strategy and priorities.
Report on the performance of content to internal stakeholders working with our social media agency.
Work with global communication teams to support ongoing reputation and crisis management through monitoring and listening tools
Set, measure and track social media activity, providing actionable insights to help optimise channels.
Regularly audit the global website portfolio and social media channels to ensure strategic alignment, brand compliance and factual accuracy.
Act as a centre of excellence, identify trends and opportunities and advise BU and functional communication teams worldwide on best practices in digital content, aligned to the brand
Performance and delivery - Video and photography
Support the Digital Media Manager, global communication teams and agencies to create compelling multi-media content that effectively communicates the key strategic themes and campaigns.
Build on the existing governance framework to ensure an aligned approach to video production and design.
Maintain upkeep of the YouTube channel so that it features the most up-to-date videos and playlists that reflect business strategic requirements.
Assist in maintaining the Video Library – ensuring up-to-date fresh footage is included and structured in a clear, accessible way.
Perform in-house editing when required.
Commission global shoots based around key strategic themes and campaigns, working with global communication teams and agencies.
Build on the existing governance framework to ensure an aligned approach to photographic production and style.
Assist in maintaining the Image Library – ensuring up-to-date fresh photography is included in all operations, covering all key themes.
Perform in-house editing and retouching of imagery.

Excellent writing ability and journalist skills.
Passionate about the role of social in articulating strategic business goals to an external audience
Exhibits confident, credible, persuasive communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills across the internal and external landscape
Able to deal calmly with conflicting deadlines and demands
Participate as an effective team member in working collaboratively with your leader, peers, and relevant others (including from other teams) to achieve business goals
Knowledge
Experience providing digital communication support for an FTSE company desirable – either in-house or agency.
Working experience with website analytics, social media platforms and digital advertising best practices
Experience in creating B2B social media, corporate social media, or financial social media content.
Knowledge of the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.
Strong analytical thinking skills.
Technical Skills
Strong experience working with social media management software
Experience in working with CMSs.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and associated software.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) knowledge.
Knowledge of social media advertising methods/approaches.
Ability to edit photography and video using Adobe Creative Cloud.
Experience in working with and explaining key social media and web metrics using innovative formats.
