Purpose of Job

Communications, digitalization and sustainability are key topics, also in the context of increased communications integration of all subsidiaries. The Corporate Communications Manager has to support the transformation process, create and lead the company story and company narrative and all relevant messaging to a range of internal and external stakeholders. He/she acts as the bridge between the company and external stakeholders and takes charge of all internal communications. Priorities need to be defined and executed as part of an overall integrated communications plan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the leadership team, the internal and external communication strategy has to be defined and organized; develop the plan, the planning and the content.

  • This includes priority setting, content development and channel selection and measurement of effectiveness and reach.

  • Taking ownership of the full and consistent and well-timed alignment of external and internal communications both at HQ and in increase consistency with and between subsidiaries; connecting the dots.

  • Supporting the CEO and the ExCo (8 people) by preparing the content, interview briefing materials for all company’s internal and external messages and interviews, whether it is done by the Corporate Communications Manager or by the CEO, CFO or another member of the leadership team. Whereas the role is not a permanent ExCo member, he/she will be joining the meetings very regularly (‘extended member’).

  • Supervising media and social media content, finalize company statements, handle media inquiries, develop targeted campaigns and press releases.

  • Further development employee engagement communications based on a recent value exercise and NPS scores.

  • Whereas financial communications (company is mid-cap) is not part of the remit of the role, close cooperation with the CFO and external PR agencies is essential.

  • Defining the roadmap with an external partner in order to position the company brand; current ongoing rebranding exercise is reaching final stages.

  • Partner to develop communication pitches, support interviews, and develop contributed content.

  • Support and project manage the communication of key corporate projects such as digitalization, ERP implementation and sustainability strategy projects.

Education and Experience

  • A master's degree in business, finance, law or communication.

  • Minimum of 6-7 years of experience either within a corporate communication team or within a communication agency specialized in corporate communication.

  • Experience in developing communications plans, written press releases, managing social media programs and project-managing corporate marketing initiatives.

  • Experience in developing content for and implementing it in a multi-channel approach.

  • Experience in working with leadership teams on external and internal communication strategies. Exceptional writing skills across several mediums including: social, press releases, news articles, email communication.
