Are you a content specialist?

If so, a leading membership organisation is seeking a Membership Content Lead to head up the team and implement a cross-organisational content strategy that increases member awareness and engagement. Your primary responsibility is to oversee the creation of engaging, relevant and compelling content that can be shared across a range of channels, including website, email, social media and print media. You will report to the Head of Membership Communications and Content.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation of (or commission) high-quality content, ensuring it reflects insights from members. This includes content in a variety of formats (including written, video, animation, graphics).

  • Management of the team responsible for website content.

  • Line manage, coach, support and guide the work of the content team, ensuring they deliver on requirements in line with individual, team, organisational and commercial targets.

  • Day-to-day responsibility for the content budget, ensuring all projects are delivered to agreed costs and on time.

  • Commission competition analysis and market research, and analyse existing content performance, recommending improvements as appropriate.

  • Provide editorial and content planning advice to colleagues across the organisation, including support and training as necessary.

Key skills required:

  • Significant experience in creating engaging and compelling content.

  • Strong people management skills, with experience of leading teams.

  • Ideally have a background in journalism or be able to demonstrate significant experience of identifying and creating compelling stories.

  • Solid understanding of latest trends and best practice in both creating engaging communications for web, social media and print.

  • Outstanding editing, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly understand complex or technical issues and translate that into engaging and easy to understand communications.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role at a membership, trade, or regulatory body desirable.

  • Knowledge of the legal profession.

  • Understanding/experience of digital transformation and content design principles.
