Communications Project Manager (12 month interim)

Job Description

It’s an exciting time to join our client, a leading global FMCG organisation, who’re undertaking a large-scale portfolio of change & transformation programmes, largely centred around technological infrastructure changes.

Our client is seeking support with the project from an Internal and Change Communications perspective; the Communications Project Manager will be accountable for the planning, creation and delivery of communications activities for the Supply Chain workstream (one of the core business areas) within the wider Programme to build awareness, understanding and engagement amongst all relevant stakeholders.

If you’re an experienced internal (programme/change/transformation) communications practitioner, immediately available, who’s looking for an exciting new role with a well-known FMCG brand then this could be a good fit for you!

This Position:

  • Has an immediate start

  • Will require regular in-office attendance (1-2 days Feltham-based head office per week)

  • Pays £500 per day (outside IR35)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a detailed communication and engagement plan and calendar for the workstream that will drive engagement and adoption, harness advocates for change and win over those who are passive or resistant

  • Proactively engage colleagues on the Supply Chain workstream, the wider programme and within the client's existing Communications Team, managing and developing relationships, using these contacts to gather information, build understanding, help influence and work collaboratively

  • Work with the Workstream Change Management Lead and the workstream team to identify relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) and conduct regular stakeholder analyses

  • Proactively update the detailed communication and engagement plan and calendar, incorporating the outputs of the various assessments (e.g., change impact, stakeholder and other assessments) as required

  • Deliver the activities in the communication and engagement plan and calendar, ensuring delivery is on time and within budget

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the overall Project communications and engagement plan and calendar

  • Create high quality communications content plus materials/collateral that bring clarity and create emotional engagement and enthusiasm from the relevant audiences

  • Ensure all materials and content are aligned with programme’s narrative/core messages and company policies, brand guidelines, standards and tone of voice etc.

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications and engagement activities providing reports to the Project Comms Lead and other stakeholders as required

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering communications and engagement as part of a complex business transformation programme and in a multi-site, multi-national business (ideally FMCG business)

  • Experience in technology change communications, preferably within the Supply Chain space

  • Confident and comfortable with a fast pace of delivery; can manage multiple priorities at once and can deliver high quality solutions against a backdrop of ambiguity and changing priorities

  • Adaptable and proactive content creator and curator - can confidently write across a range of topics, seek new angles and opportunities for storytelling, tailoring communications to relevant audiences while also delivering concise and clear instructional content as required

  • Ability to challenge and influence others and move toward a common vision or goal; ability to flex style to influence a variety of senior stakeholders

  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation

  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

  • Goal orientated, able to take on an objective and to transform it into a concrete plan

  • Ability to work independently, without detailed oversight
