The opportunity

My client is the commercial arm for a leading Engineering membership/trade organisation. They are looking for a Communications Manager to lead on all strategic media relations initiatives for the organisation as well social media and employee engagement matters.

Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, secure proactive media coverage and thought leadership pieces and manage incoming media enquiries

  • Establishing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including members of the organisation as well as government bodies to build awareness and increase the organisation’s profile and reputation

  • Leading on all crisis communications plans and strategies for the business

  • Managing and monitoring all legislative and policies relating to engineering and construction

The ideal candidate

You will come with strong communication skills, both written and oral. You will have strong experience in media relations as well as have the confidence in working with external and internal stakeholders while bring comfortable drafting press releases and building relationships with government bodies. The ideal candidate will also have experience working in the construction, engineering or similar sectors.
