We are looking to recruit a ‘Communications Lead EMEAR North Theatre’ for our client with offices in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK.

What You'll Do

You’ll be responsible for the integrated communications program for the North Theatre, for both media and employees. You will work in partnership with all communications functions, marketing and business leaders, including the North leadership team.

You will lead all communications (internal and external) in the North Theatre, in close cooperation with the North employee communications manager and the BeNeLux PR lead, who will both report to you. As part of your role, you will plan and execute the PR program in priority countries in Northern Europe, incl. Sweden, Norway and Denmark. You will work with key influencers including print, online, broadcast and social media; subject matter experts, and others. You will be accountable for measurable results.

This position reports to the Leader of multi-country theatres within EMEAR Communications. The role will be based in one of the Scandinavian countries.

The success of this role requires the ability to balance several priorities. It requires you to prioritise and focus on the areas where communications can have the biggest impact and demonstrate tangible results around influencing audience’s perceptions, attitudes, and behaviours.

Some of your responsibilities:

  • Translate business goals into communications objectives, understand and influence audience perceptions.
  • Design and drive communications programmes that help position the company’s relevance and advance its thought leadership and innovation profile.
  • You scale, amplify and build stories in line with our client’s key business and technology narratives, and with local relevance.
  • You drive regular planning and reporting meetings. You track and report success metrics and use the data to continually improve communications programs. You socialise communications plans and results with key business stakeholders.
  • You have a deep understanding of the Northern Europe media landscape and provide communications counsel to communications, marketing, and business colleagues. You manage relations with business and tech media and other influencers.
  • You manage the PR agencies across key countries in the North Theatre.
  • You build and maintain strong working relationships across the EMEAR and Global Comms Organisation.
  • You will be an active member of the EMEAR Communications team and help drive the team’s joint success whilst driving the success of Communications locally.

Who You Are

You know how to lead, plan, drive and execute public relations and employee communications campaigns, aligned to both corporate and local business priorities. You use a strategic and creative approach to translate business priorities into compelling content that is relevant and engaging to a diverse audience. You understand our client’s story, its products, technologies, services & solutions.

You bring the following competencies:

  • You are a seasoned communications professional with 8-10 years of direct PR and communications experience.
  • You have experience in working in an international/multinational company.
  • You have worked with and built trusted relationships with journalists and other key influencers in Northern Europe, including national, business, technology and social media.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills; intuitive ability to read people, influence where appropriate and execute. You have senior level experience in giving counsel and mentorship to executives; need to have credibility and presence with senior management.
  • You are fluent in English and at least one of the Scandinavian languages (written & verbal).
  • You have excellent written communication skills and you develop meaningful and engaging content. This includes messaging documents, blogs, announcements, customer stories, by-lines, media pitches, briefings, Q&As, video scripts, presentations, social media content etc.
  • You have experience in building strategic communications plans with a focus on outcomes (perception changes). You have experience in tracking and reporting on communications outcome metrics and use the data to continually improve communications campaigns.
  • Project management, budget and supplier management experience.
  • You are able to exercise discretion when presented with sensitive information or confidential issues.
  • You demonstrate high degree of patience, integrity and take the initiative.
  • You are self-motivated with ability to handle areas of responsibility with minimum supervision and guidance.
  • You are a flexible and resilient problem solver with the ability to gain consensus among others and handle sensitive situations.
  • You have a deep understanding of how communications and marketing should work together.
