Job Description​

Our client, as featured on the FTSE-250 and London Stock Exchange, has an exciting opening for a Communications Advisor to play a important part in a wide range of communications practice. This includes – but is not confined to – supporting the management of the client's external website, Social Media pages, Media & PR and Internal Communications activity. 

This position sits within a growing and fast-paced Northampton-based Communications team and requires a once weekly in-office attendance. 

Key Responsibilities 

Social Media

  • Support the development of a social media strategy and content plan for the client's external communications channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

  • Deliver on said plans with the production and delivery of engagement posts and other content

Internal Communications

  • Support the internal communications function to create content for internal channels such as the client’s intranet system and corporate newsletter

Media

  • Monitor media for mentions of the client and escalate/highlight issues for resolution or review in a timely manner

  • Help manage the press office in and out of hours. This includes managing enquiries that come in by phone and via the shared Corporate Communications email inbox and liaising with relevant stakeholders across the Group to resolve these 

Website

  • Partner with different areas of the communications team to plan, create and evaluate website content

  • Monitor the client’s website to ensure consistency of information between different web section owners

Key Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken English 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, distil key messages and tailor information for different audiences using a range of media – social media, internal messages, press releases

  • Prior experience using social media in a corporate context

  • Awareness of latest digital and social media channels and how to use and analyse them

  • Confident to speak to journalists and senior leaders

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Able to respect and manage confidential and sensitive information

  • Great initiative and a self-starter
