So, What Is Meet the Author?

Hosted and organised by VMA GROUP’s Crystle Pearce, the ‘Meet the Author’ event series is a warm and welcoming place for all communications professionals to gather over some drinks and listen to some of the finest wordsmiths of communications literature. With previous guest speakers including Jenni Field (award-winning podcaster and author of Influential Internal Communication) and Lesley Allman (author of the Amazon best-seller, Better Internal Communication), last Tuesday 21st March we saw a 3rd successful event with the wonderful Kim A. Page – keynote speaker and author of The Right Kind of Loud. For those who have been to these events before, it was a chance to reunite with fellow communicators and collect their next ‘Meet the Author’ bookmark!

Finding Your Voice:

With an interactive activity and engaging discussion, Kim presented the key theme of her work and passion: finding your own voice. Her book, The Right Kind of Loud is a must-have manual for all communications professionals offering advice on how to be a ‘best-in-class’ communicator, touching on topics such as body language, active listening, navigating your workplace and seeking audience engagement. Through a game, designed by Kim, this ‘Meet the Author’ event prompted a lively discussion about finding your voice in today’s noisy world. We discussed the challenges of living in a multichannel communication workplace and how we can overcome this.
