2017 sees the first chapter on the interim IC specialist published, reflecting the growth and demand for interim management and the challenges for interim professionals. Almost 30% of the respondents work in the interim profession making it clear that the clear cut nature of the contractors project with clear cut deliverables is often more appealing than permanent positions with broader and ongoing remits. The report also covers the hot topic of Brexit as it currently looms large over the UK economy. Between May and August 2016, VMAGroup conducted 40 in-depth interviews with CEOs across Europe to establish their view of communications’ role within leadership and reputation. The findings were a resounding affirmation that, in the modern business arena, the communications director has a far broader task on their hands than their predecessors did in years gone by. Whilst the day-to-day skillset of the profession remains vital, those interviewed stressed the importance of a new approach and philosophy altogether.
