Transformation Communications Consultant (12-month FTC)

A leading global maritime business is searching for a Transformation Communications Consultant on a 12-month contract paying £80,000 - £90,000, starting early/mid October.

The Transformation Communications Consultant sits within the Internal Communications team. The role's primary focus is to create and manage communications and engagement plans for new organisational structures, systems, processes, and any other change that impacts people internally. As a more senior and experienced member of the team they play a leading role in supporting the Head of Internal Comms and also work in close partnership with the Transformation team.

This role will act as trusted advisor, supporting ELT and senior leaders in telling the story of the 5-year business strategy in a clear, compelling and consistent way that engages and inspires the global workforce. They will work closely with the delivery side of the Comms Team, and key stakeholders in the projects and initiatives under their responsibility. They will have full accountability for the design of engaging communications strategies for change and transformation initiatives that support the delivery of business outcomes and inspire involvement and action from the organisation’s global workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the key business stakeholders to design communications strategies to meet business objectives and align with the wider internal comms strategy

  • Working in collaboration with the Head of Internal Comms and Senior Internal Comms Manager to lead internal communications for strategic change projects

  • Leading the development of the organisation’s transformation communications workstreams to ensure that narratives and messaging are cohesive and flow throughout all transformation programmes

  • A trusted advisor to the leadership teams, regularly attending meetings and advising on employee engagement and alignment, and best practice IC approaches.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of delivering communications on a major change programme or project

  • Excellent spoken communication and influencing skills with senior business leaders. Confident building relationships at all levels, giving considerate feedback and providing a fresh approach to existing communication.

  • Previous experience working in a senior IC role within a global organisation of more than 2000 employees and will have experienced a matrix management structure

  • Operational experience using project management methodologies, approaches, tools and techniques
