​Exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs executive to join a high profile trade association in the food and drink industry.

Role responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and implementing the organisation’s public affairs engagement strategy in Westminster to support advocacy across the organisation’s key priorities.

• Build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, member companies, parliamentarians and counterparts in similar organisations

• Identify opportunities to promote the organisation’s positions through active political and parliamentary monitoring.

• Prepare and draft regular reports and briefings, parliamentary questions, correspondence etc

• Keep abreast of political and policy developments affecting the sector providing timely advice to colleagues and member companies.

• Work with colleagues to plan and deliver public affairs events, including annual Parliamentary Reception, party conference contact programmes and other ad hoc activity.

Key skills:

• Prior public affairs experience/knowledge of the political process – this can be gained from agency or in house.

• Strong writing skills.

• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
