This is a superb opportunity for a seasoned contractor to take on a blue-chip media relations role at a FTSE 100 retail giant and one of the UK’s most high-profile supermarket brands.
To fit the bill, you’ll be a press office pro through and through, someone with a calm head who’s in their element when thrust into the thick of a media crisis. This is a very busy press office for a household brand, after all. You’ll need to play a key role in the delivery of annual and interim results, managing crises and issues and running point on corporate communication and the media elements of major strategic projects.
Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role sits within the wider Corporate Communications team, itself part of a business-wide Corporate Affairs function, with plenty of access to senior leadership and two direct line reports of its own.
To be successful, you’ll almost definitely have consumer PR or media experience. Even better if you’ve worked either in-house or agency-side with large retail organisations. Perhaps you’ll have cut your teeth engaging with trade unions or working on complex structural programmes.
