​Here is a rare opportunity for a first-class media relations professional to take on a contract role in a major listed business and one of the UK’s most recognisable household brands.

As Senior External Corporate Communications Manager (12-month FTC), you’ll be a key player in protecting and building this organisation’s brand in the face of very significant national and regional media interest. To do that, you will need strong media relations skills, plenty of credibility and the knowhow to closely manage the press amid scrutiny in crisis scenarios, as well as a deep understanding of the complexities of the UK media landscape, particularly in the financial sector.

You’ll be equipped to generate compelling, high-quality and accurate communications content for aspects of the financial calendar, including annual report, and help to develop & execute excellent external communications products to illustrate Group-level strategic and transformation objectives, working closely with a range of key stakeholders & advisors to achieve this. You’ll also need to have both the gravitas and skill to brief, counsel and – where necessary - challenge senior business stakeholders to support its best interests.

With a salary of up to £85,000, you’ll be expected to work from this very large organisation’s Farringdon HQ 1-2 days a week while the rest of the role can be performed remotely.
