​A leading global law firm is seeking a Senior External Communications Manager to help drive their strategic communications in support of the firm’s brand and business goals. The role requires someone with the ability to create impact with senior in-house stakeholders, clients, and the business media.

Key responsibilities:

  • To proactively engage with partners and other colleagues to drive strate-gic communications across all external channels, including the media, so-cial media and website

  • To plan, execute, track, and evaluate a targeted external communications strategy with the external communications team

  • Work collaboratively with communications and business development colleagues to deliver impactful campaigns across all external communications channels

  • Develop communications around business issues and trends of strategic importance to the clients, such as sustainability, private capital and tech-nology, and build compelling narratives which position the firm as forward-thinking and progressive

  • Drive tactical news, thought leadership and market commentary opportu-nities for market-leading spokespeople

  • Develop relationships with target trade, broadcast and national media

  • Engage with, advise and provide support to colleagues with responsibility for external communications across the firm’s global network

Key requirements

  • Proven track record in a similar professional services environment

  • Credibility with and significant experience of advising and influencing sen-ior stakeholders on external communications

  • Track record of success in delivering impactful, multi-channel campaigns

  • Strong media relationships

  • Sophisticated knowledge of the issues affecting multinational businesses

  • Confidence, energy and the ability to juggle multiple requests, prioritise and act quickly to meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent writing and communication skills and attention to detail

  • Exceptional influencing skills

  • Ability to identify and develop a compelling narrative which supports business strategy

  • Ability to thrive under pressure and work effectively with complexity and ambiguity
