​High profile organisation is looking to appoint a Public Affairs Manager to develop and manage its public affairs programme for the North in partnership with wider public affairs team. The successful candidate will work with business leadership team in the north to develop an ongoing programme of events and activities that will ensure it is positioned strongly with key political and wider business stakeholders across the North.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Manage public affairs, policy and stakeholder engagement

• Ensure leadership team are briefed and attending right events

• Develop relationships with politicians, councils, government departments, community, think tanks and business leaders and partner organisations - ensuring an engagement programme for leadership team

• Ensure programme of activities is aligned to wider business’s long-term strategy and national political engagement programme

• Monitor, advise and influence policy, identifying opportunities and threats to the organisation’s strategy

• Assist with funding proposals, speeches, white papers, etc

• Work closely with wider communications and public affairs team to align activities and ultimately maximise opportunities and relationships.
  

Organisation operates flex working and requires team to be in office/at events 3 days a week.
