A leading global, FTSE100 financial services organization is looking for a Press Officer to support a broad range of businesses in the financial market infrastructure sector during a time of significant industry and organizational change. Working as part of the communications division in a global Press Team, you will partner with a wide-range of internal business stakeholders to provide day-to-day communications advice and build on your existing network of media contacts across national and trade publications in the UK and abroad.
Key responsibilities:
Developing and implementing communications plans
Proactively seeking PR opportunities to profile the organization's various business, products and services in the media
Providing media relations support and counsel to members of the executive team and various business heads
Building relationships with internal stakeholders to implement the Group communications plan
Building strong relationships with financial media
Developing compelling stories around businesses to position them in compelling and innovative ways to the media
Regularly contributing to team-wide media monitoring, journalist outreach and handling incoming enquiries to the newsroom
Drafting by-lined articles, press releases, FAQS and other written materials
Interfacing with other internal teams, including internal communications, marketing, government relations and regulatory strategy, investor relations, legal and human resources to deliver projects
Skills and experience required:
Proven track record in media relations with minimum 3 years of experience in a dynamic environment, either in agency or in-house
Proven track record of implementing communications plans and interacting with senior stakeholders
Sector experience in financial services, banking, asset management or market infrastructure is highly desirable
Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Experience in publicly listed company communications across financial, corporate, and issues management is desirable
Strong media relations skills, good media contacts and varied experience in reactive and proactive PR
Ability to deliver complex messages in easily understandable ways
Ability to work with senior internal stakeholders, as well, as build good working relationships with colleagues, media and other external stakeholders
Able to communicate, influence and challenge effectively
Experienced in operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the proven ability to succeed across simultaneous projects
