This is a superb FTC opportunity to join the retail banking arm of a high-profile, multi-national financial services group.

Based in central London but offering a hybrid working pattern, this Media Relations Manager role supports the Media Relations team in reputation management and delivering proactive and reactive campaigns with national & international impact in a fast-paced, busy environment. Reporting to the Senior MR Manager – who you’ll also deputise for - your responsibilities will include media response, crisis comms, content creation, agency management, press office duties, executive briefings, issues management and clear, effective corporate messaging. You’ll also need to be on-call every so often (every 6 weeks or so).

The role offers a competitive salary for the right individual as well as a significant car allowance, generous annual leave, bonus and a matched pension up to 12.5%. To be successful, you will have at least three years’ experience in an FS communications setting, preferably handling personal and consumer finance activity, and good media contacts in this area would be particularly helpful. The Retail team is part of the group’s wider Communications & Sustainability function and covers current accounts, savings mortgages, credit cards and fraud so you’ll need to be familiar with the nuts and bolts of these areas. You’ll also be skilled at building impactful relationships up to ExCo level and feel right at home in large, multi-national organisations.
