Our client, a leader in the financial services sector, is looking for a Head of Communications to join their team in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company’s communications planning and execution
  • Build collaborative relationships with country and regional leadership, business stakeholders and corporate staff colleagues
  • Partner closely with APAC marketing leads and establish relationships with key news media
  • Navigate unique media landscapes in APAC
  • Manage crisis communications
  • Manage annual planning process and results reporting to primary business stakeholders
  • Manage regional budgets
  • Retain and manage external resources or agencies to support strategic objectives

To be successful:

  • 15+ years of professional experience in corporate communications and/or media relations, preferably in the financial services sector
  • Bachelor degree required
  • International work experience and understanding of cultural nuances in APAC
  • Prior experience leading a team spread across many countries/geographies
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in managing communications for the sector
  • Deep and broad business acumen
  • Able to present and defend a point of view with the senior leadership team, internal colleagues and external media for the company
  • Experienced in media outreach to secure coverage in publications
  • Deep knowledge of digital and social platforms
  • High-functioning and proactive person who can handle stressful situations
  • Good time management, focuses on priorities
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills; effective presentation skills
  • Fluent in English; one additional language skill preferred
