Communications Manager EMEA

Position Summary:

As the Communications Manager for the EMEA region, you will help to create and implement communication strategies and integrated PR programmes to support the business objectives for our client, protecting and enhancing his reputation and our client’s portfolio. This position works closely with regional Commercial, Marketing, Professional Education & Sustainability teams to deliver impactful executive communications and PR programmes with trade and consumer media, targeted to our client’s regional employees and consumers in EMEA. This role reports to the Director, EMEA Communications & Public Affairs.

This role will also support Global Sustainability communications for our client, creating and activating strategy, content and plans to support the development of sustainability across the organisation and the underpin the goals and achievements ongoing with all stakeholders and audiences internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

·    Partner closely with EMEA marketing teams to develop and integrate communications and PR programmes into marketing mix to drive awareness and trial products and services; actively find opportunities for PR to augment existing marketing plans and vice versa.

·    Serve as lead day-to-day contact for product-related communications with EMEA media, including proactive trade and consumer media outreach and responding to media inquiries.

·    Develop and execute communications plans for our client’s presence at major industry meetings and congresses, including product and data presentations, social media, and provide communications support for some stage/podium presentations.

·    Support development of internal and organizational communications plans in support of the EMEA Commercial Leadership Teams, organizational changes and announcements, and other activities impacting the EMEA organization and beyond, under supervision of the Director.

·    Contribute EMEA regional content to corporate digital and social media properties to drive share of voice and achieve business objectives and work closely with marketing partners to deliver an integrated approach.

·    Help manage the reputation and equity of our clients’ brands, through the anticipation of issues and appropriate management of them.

·    Partner with global communications colleagues, including other regional communicators, global communicators, and internal communications team to highlight and showcase EMEA brand activations, organizational news, and leadership communications.

·    Collaborate with enterprise, other regional and sector colleagues to drive broad awareness and impact of communications strategies.

·    Manage the process of regulatory approvals of comms materials/assets.

·    Support our client’s Global Sustainability comms activity, working with the Director and global team.

Qualifications - External

Required:

·    Previous experience in communications role either in agency or in-house

·    Self-starter, able to navigate and deliver on multiple priorities

·    Experience of branded PR campaigns, media relations and issues management

·    Strong experience working with social media and digital

·    Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and matrix in a matrix environment and driving results through influence

·    Prior work in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consumer health fields

·    Experience in delivering measurable business outcomes for consumer-facing PR programmes

·    Experience and confidence in counselling senior leaders on business opportunities, communications objectives, strategy, and message.

·    Strong writing skills

·    Demonstrable expert judgment in launching new products and is sought after as an expert

·    Demonstrable ability to oversee agency partners

·    Demonstrable ability to navigate ambiguous situations

·    The position may require up to 10% EMEA travel
