March was another busy month at VMA Group with some key developments in the Asia-Pacific region impacting on our global operation. Firstly, we opened an office in Singapore which is being headed up by Erin Loh, who has moved over from one of our main Asian competitors. Secondly, Katrina Andrews has been promoted to VMA Group’s Board of Directors which is both a reflection of her sterling work over the last two years and reinforces the importance of our presence in Asia-Pac, not only for regional clients, but in servicing our existing global clients.
In Europe, we have put in place a number of key initiatives which will come to fruition over the next couple of months. The Rising Stars campaign was launched in March, and has been extremely well received with nominations flooding in. Our aim is to discover and celebrate the brightest emerging talents within digital, internal, marketing and agency communications. We are accepting nominations until Friday 7th June and will be announcing the winners at an event later on in the summer.
We are currently working on two major pieces of research. Our survey of the European Communications market is about to published, and VMA’s Head of Mainland Europe, Willem de Ruijter, will be hosting a series of events over the summer to share and discuss the findings. The report is aimed at helping HR Managers who are looking to build communications teams within the Benelux region, and the findings present some extremely interesting facts.
Our Business Leaders in Communications Study for 2013/14, is now open for registration, and we are inviting Directors of Communications across all industries and sectors to participate. Building on the 2012 report, it will offer invaluable insights into the status of the corporate communications function in organisations today, and gives Comms Directors the opportunity to benchmark their own function against those in other businesses and sectors. Now in its second year, we are aiming to increase participation to 250 Communications Directors and extend the reach of the report to mainland Europe as well as the UK.
Our regular networking events have continued at their usual pace and we are particularly excited about two drinks events for our newer dedicated practice areas – Digital and Marketing Communications – coming up in May. We have also recently published our quarterly market updates for each practice within VMA Group.
As usual, we welcome your feedback on all aspects of the business at VMA Group.
