VMA Group – now recruiting in 20 different countries
2013 has been a year in which VMA Group has gone from strength to strength. Our move over the last three years from a UK-based business to a truly global company has been dramatic: this year, due to client demand, we opened a new office in Singapore, building our now established Asia-Pacific practice alongside the Hong Kong office which opened in 2011.
The recruitment market is changing rapidly and every piece of research that we conduct at VMA Group indicates that, for the communications industry in particular, the job market is global. To find the top talent available all searches now have to have a global aspect, and this is one reason why VMA Group now, beyond Asia, has offices across Europe in the UK, Belgium and The Netherlands, with plans to open an office in Paris in 2014. In fact, in just the last year, the Group has recruited in 20 different countries (full list below), and our global operations are amongst the fastest growing in the business.
The recruitment market is also changing in other ways, and the “one size fits all” approach has finally died. Within VMA Group we offer three additional services to meet our clients’ changing needs. In response to the growing influence of social media on recruitment, VMA Direct, which focuses on entry to mid-level recruitment, has been extremely successful since its launch earlier this year. VMA Direct allows clients complete flexibility to select the services they require, and works in partnership with in-house recruitment teams and HRs tasked with recruiting on a restricted budget.
Our training arm, VMA Enhance, is busier than ever as professional development becomes increasingly important in engaging and retaining a successful workforce. This is particularly apparent at the senior level, where throughout 2013 Enhance has worked hand in hand with VMA Executive, our Search division, to coach and mentor senior communications practitioners; not only for their own development but also to improve their influence and impact at board level, to shape how global communications should be structured and how reputational issues can be future-proofed.
With so much going on at VMA Group, it is often quite difficult to sit back and take stock. A lot happened at VMA Group in 2013 to ensure that the business would be perfectly positioned to meet the global needs of a diverse set of clients. With much of the groundwork now done, the foundations have been laid for a successful 2014 in a recovering economic climate.
While we reflect on 2013 and look forward to 2014, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas from everyone at VMA Group and a happy and prosperous New Year!
