Job Description:

A major social enterprise directed at promoting London as a city - through key focus areas such as attracting international business & tourism, higher education, major sports and cultural events - is looking for an enthusiastic PR Executive to provide support to the wider PR Team in activities across all its audiences. Principal duties include proactive and reactive media engagement and systems management responsibilities (such as media monitoring, evaluation and media centre operation). Working closely with external partners, this role represents a fantastic opportunity to build and develop a strong network within the PR arena.

 

Key Responsibilities

Support PR Managers with handling of all media activities, including:

  • Managing the press inbox, triaging, and responding in a timely manner to media enquiries
  • Organise media interviews, briefing materials and support the briefing of spokespeople
  • Build and monitor media databases and update these contact lists regularly to ensure press materials reach target audiences
  • Oversee the effective running of the public facing media centre, including an out of hours rota
  • Create daily news bulletins for internal stakeholders
  • Support in pitching individual stories over the phone, email and in person to journalists from domestic and international markets to achieve high quality press coverage
  • Monitor media coverage and compile monthly analysis reports with input across team to measure success against company metrics
  • Write and develop PR newsletters to engage target media
  • Undertake research to assist with the development and implementation of team projects as required
  • Support the PR Team in the creation and implementation of PR moments providing creative input and ideas
  • Support the team with financial systems, raising PO’s and keeping commitment records up to date
  • Help maintain relationships with key external PR agencies and stakeholders
  • Help maintain relationships with key internal departments
  • Other reasonable duties as required

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in PR (or a closely related industry)
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal & written - with the ability to engage credible journalists
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Strong digital and IT skills
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Articulate, dynamic and enthusiastic
