Communications Manager

​A global trade body is seeking a proactive and experienced Communications Manager to join its team. The successful candidate will be a Communications “all-rounder” with experience across external, internal, digital and ideally some public affairs. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join this global association as it supports its industry in navigating the journey towards Net Zero.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality, well-written and accurate communications content for a range of audiences and channels.

  • Co-ordinate and manage communications campaign activity working with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Devise and deliver innovative digital and social media strategies in support of campaigns and projects.

  • Research and write stories and material online and other outlets, including news releases for relevant media outlets.

  • Manage all aspects of member and internal communications in support of the organisation’s communications and associated activities.

  • Build media relationships and secure coverage.

  • Respond proactively to media enquiries and manage the media office.

  • Ensure communications projects achieve a high level of professional delivery and consistency of brand and messaging.

Skills and experience required:

  • Graduate-level education with a professional qualification in public relations and/or marketing

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a similar senior role or with a substantial communications background.

  • Business to business experience and strong commercial awareness.

  • An experienced communications professional with demonstrable writing ability and strong digital skills, you are highly literate and able to produce accurate, clear, and effective content.

  • An understanding and appreciation of working in a membership organisation.

  • A strategic thinker who is both highly diplomatic, professional and ambitious.

  • A proactive and enthusiastic manner.
