Asia-Pacific Executive Summary – Summer 2013
July and August have been busy months at VMA Group Asia with new developments including – appointments in the Singapore office including; Donny de Silva, Principal Consultant and Libby Trace, Country Manager who has joined us from our UK business. The Singapore market
The Singapore team has been busy working on roles, including several Head of Communications assignments within both Financial Services and manufacturing, check out their latest vacancies page for further opportunities. Similar to HK and London, Singapore is experiencing growth in the Internal Communications function, with new roles and whole teams being developed (across all sectors). We have also seen more Market Communications generalist roles being offered in South East Asia – specifically Indonesia and Malaysia.
Asia Pacific Salary survey
We are about to begin our annual research into the Asia Communications market, and we will then be hosting a series of events – including sessions in both HK and Singapore on ‘The Future of Communications’’ where we’ll present the findings from the survey as well as the global trends, from VMA Executive Director, David Broome’s recent research. The Asia Pacific salary research will offer invaluable insights into the status of the corporate communications function in organisations today, and will give Communications professionals the opportunity to benchmark their own team sizes and salaries against others in the region. We’ll be contacting you shortly to survey your function/team.
Our regular networking events have continued at their usual pace and we are particularly excited about two events– Head of Corporate Communications, Hong Kong – coming up on the 20th August (hosted at Barclays) and the newly launched Internal Communications Advisory Board, Hong Kong– 29th August (hosted at RBS).
